All games are displayed and explained in perfect detail. I use this book as a companion to Engleman's Introduction to Theatre Arts. The students love the games and I have noticed a dramatic improvement in there abilities as actors and actresses.

After reading reviews I noight this book as a resource to teaxh a high school drama workshop. This book is for elementary students!

Her games are great for all levels of theatre students. If you are a theatre teacher with a group of kids that are not very motivated to perform in front of others, Spolin's games will get them in the mood. They kids won't recognize that they are actually performing in front of others while playing the games. You will trick them into learning. If your group loves theatre the kids will participate in the games enthusiastically and have a wonderful time exploring the skill or movement being taught. They are written in an easily understood step-by-step format.

I can't really say that this book helped me... it brings a lot of information and specially lots of exercises... However, I think that the explanations are confusing...

I purchased this book for grad school and found it to be insightful when examining Spolin's work in action. Not only was it useful in research, but the games along with side coaching techniques are so clearly laid out that I was able to immediately begin using it for a fresh approach with my classes. As a teaching artist I teach kindergarten through middle school, and have found many of the games to be easily adaptable for different groups. I highly recommend this book to all!

I teach sixth grade math, and have a group of students for an exploratory class. We talk about current events, esteem building, community building, fun non-academic skills with an emphasis on social awareness. I have been using this book for most of the year so far, and my students look forward to it,a nd ask for it. I don't have a background in theater, but this book has several premade units that have a focus on different skills. The one I am just completing focuses on community building for the group and concentration and focus for the individual. I find it easy to use, and I like the skills that it is building and reinforcing in my students. If you don't want to do a whole unit, the individual exercises and warm-ups can be set up and completed in 5-10 minutes. Great,and quick!I strongly recommend this for any classroom!

I have many translations of the Holy Qur'an. If what you want is to actually read this great book, there's no doubt in my mind that Haleem's is your best way in, hands down. Other translations might be more faithful--I honestly could not say. But Question #1 is: Will you read them, or get bogged down by archaic language? This one reads like English. Although there are cheaper editions available from Oxford, reviewers are complaining about type size and so on. This edition is a well-made book, with a binding sewn in signatures and a ribbon marker. At last, a Holy Qur'an, rendered into English, worthy to hold, and inviting to read.

I ordered this translation to read and compare it alongside other English translations. This translation was published in 2010 and because it is a recent translation, it is written in contemporary English for the English-speaking audience. Even though I also like Pickthal and Yusuf Ali's translation but because they use Old English words, their translation creates a barrier between the text and the reader.In the Introduction, the author also provides a very brief history of Islam, how the Quran was revealed to the Seal of the Prophets, style or language of the Quran, and select bibliography for further reading and understanding of the Quran. This makes it a perfect gift for anyone who knows little about Islam and wants to learn about it through its most authoritative book - the Quran.I do not like personal commentary on the Quran and mixing Hadiths with the Quranic text. That is why I try to avoid those translations that have half-page long footnotes, thus adding their own words to the Divine Text. Though this translation also provides footnotes, the main difference between this translator's approach and others (when it comes to footnotes) is that these footnotes only reference other similar verses from the Quran itself without mingling Hadiths and other opinions.As with all other translations, this one does not completely substitute the original Arabic revealed 14 centuries ago. So it is important that anyone who seriously wants to study the Quran should learn the Arabic of the Quran. Therefore, I also recommend Quranic dictionaries.

I will forever cherish this translation as it is my first personal copy of the Qur'an upon reverting to Islam. M.A.S. Abdel Haleem is a highly educated professor with degrees in Islamic and Arabic studies from various universities. Traditional Muslims will enjoy this translation as it is considered among the most accurate and best-selling ones according to al-Azhar University. New Muslims and non-Muslims alike will appreciate the useful features such as an introduction, an essay about the Prophet Muhammad's life, and notes.

This has both English and Arabic but I wish would have properly realized before purchasing that the Arabic is in a smaller font so it is rather difficult to actually read the Arabic. I wish it had used a different format.

If you need to work with the Arabic, this is not the text for you. The Arabic appear to be low resolution scans that are nearly unusable and annoyingly small. The Arabic scans appear to have been produced prior to Postscript. So while it is English and Arabic, the Arabic is nearly unusable.

I love the Quran. I changed my religion to Islam and this Quran will help me a lot. I got the Quran two days after I ordered. It is not damage and it's clear. I highly recommend this Quran

The best version of the Quran that I have seen. It explains everything from the daily prayers, the history, and the translation makes sense. I have had other translations of the Quran and Holy Bible and this one is the best!!

Clearly, this book is explicit. Tasteful phallic depictions and graphics from artist around the world. Would not leave this out on the coffee table if your entertaining young guest or sensitive audiences.Well bound (as it needs to be ;) it is a real slow page turner. Don't get jealous. Sit back and enjoy guys. Great for a "solo" session.

It's good, but i kind of expected more from the cover... It's not that bad, but it could be better...

I own Dr. Sherwin Carlquist's "Uncut", Giovanni's Private Parts, and Giovanni's Un*/ Cut. These are similar sized (9 x 7 x 1 inch) books. I found Giovanni's and Carlquist books more interesting, than Robert W. Richard's "Jewels".Jewel's book size (9 inch tall, 6.5 inch wide, 1 inch thick) with color or black & white prints are various in context. Most are photographs, some are drawings. Some with many objects in the print, some with just the man. Some are partly clothed, some are set in cars, or on furniture, though half are just the man with his 'jewels'. Intact or circumcised, flaccid or aroused, close-up or the whole male. I found the presentation too small, with too little continuity. "Jewels" left me want for Carlquist or Giovanni's work.

Full of sexy photos, drawings and paintings, 'Jewels - Adoration of the penis' is a treasure of a book. Pages and pages of delightful shots here for the reader to enjoy.Additionally there is a good litte introduction from Robert W Richards and an index at the back detailing locations and websites of all photographers included.Jewels is a treasure!

This anthology of penis art from Bruno Gmunder covers everything from cartoonish renditions to artistic interpretations to fashion to porn to photographic tributes. It is a phallus smorgasbord that will enthrall guests who discover it on the coffee table. Be careful, though: you may want to keep it away from children due to the explicit nature of the shots.

Jokes have been made about 'the family jewels' for centuries, long before feminists drew focus to the personal possessions of feminine charms. Curious women who have a proclivity to shopping, men who feel the need to compare with the broader spectrum of their birthright, youths who wonder about adult changes, and men who simply appreciate the flagship of masculinity - all will find this survey of art and photography focused on male attributes an informing as well as entertaining read.The artists represented in this festival are both very well known (GAZ, Tom Bianchi, Kingdom 19, Victor Gadino, Steve Walker, Giovanni, Peter Arnold, etc etc) and up and coming (!) such as Ismael Alvarez, Guillem Medina, Mark Lynch, Dylan Ricci and the fascinating artist William Donavan. The views of the jewels extend from the extreme closeups to the full portrait of the owner. Some of the images are a bit self indulgent but others are art of the finest quality. Some abstract the target, as in the very beautiful ceramic bowl and vase decors by Hinrich Kröger, and some decorate the figure with rich beads as in the works by Adrian Alicea. The spectrum is enormous. The reproductions are of high quality and the book is both sensual and entertaining. Another fine art book from Bruno Gmünder Verlag! Grady Harp, November 10
