I purchased Eat Dairy Free on the recommendation from a friend and am grateful for the tip. This is a beautiful, well-organized cookbook, full of straightforward, tasty recipes. Though my family is not entirely dairy-free, I rarely cook with dairy and am always on the lookout for new ideas. The Cream of Portobello Soup especially well received, and the Raw Pecan Pie Bites have become a staple snack. As a cheese-eater, I can say without reservation that the Cheesy Twice-Baked Potatoes were a very satisfying alternative to my mother's recipe. I recommend Eat Dairy Free for anyone interested in cutting back on dairy, in addition to those who are exclusively dairy-free.
I am always looking for good (and easy!) dairy free recipes for my family, and this cookbook has fit the bill!It has unique, tasty, healthy recipes that are easy enough to pull together with ingredients I already have on hand AND with toddlers running under foot. We especially love the Un-sushi Salad Wraps, Cheesy Twice-baked Potatoes, and the Banana Bread Baked Oatmeal Squares.It's a beautiful book with images for each recipe, and has a helpful menu plan to use as a guide for the week. It also includes tips and alternatives for different allergies, which is really great.Love this cookbook!
I had to go dairy free due to my breastfed baby’s dairy allergy. I have learned so much. Im done spending money on dairy/soy free snacks etc in the stores already made. They’re expensive and nasty to top it off. This book has helped me eat happy again.
This book seems to have good recipes and I would give it a much better review were it not for a disturbing discovery I made after sending it to someone as a gift. It has a recipe called "Sneaky Mexican ...". There is really no call, and no excuse EVER, for including a racist trope anywhere. It's particularly awful in a cookbook, where no one would expect to have to check in advance for appropriateness.
My daughter has a severe dairy allergy, and this book has been a great resource. I have learned to alter a lot of the meals I cook so that she can eat them. This book has given me new recipes that are yummy and easy to prepare. Thanks to this book, my daughter can eat Alfredo again. It’s what she missed the most.
I've been lactose intolerant for over a decade and boy do I wish I'd had this book when I first had to cut out dairy! Since then I've also developed multiple food sensitivities (gluten, eggs, tree nuts) and the author includes a helpful guide to finding recipes that don't include foods on your avoid list within the book. I love how simple these recipes are and the menu plan - saves me time!
I bought Eat Dairy Free a few weeks ago and I love it! My kids and I made the Wholesome Apple-Cinnamon Muffins together and they were a big hit. I also made the Chili-spiced Squash Crescents and everyone loved them, even my 2 year old. I highly recommend this cookbook!
Recipes are great but aren't versatile enough to use ingredients that are in the kitchen. More recipes that have green vegetables and less sugar would have been nice. Still, the recipes that are in the book are a delight and easy to make.
